In 2018 I began a new venture and created a book publishing business. I developed a logo and a brand and then used that to build a website and social media accounts. Within 24 hours of posting my initial call for submissions, two different writers sent in their novels for review.

Before I launched the business, I spent time researching publishing industry trends regarding traditional, self-, and hybrid publishing. I knew what sort of publishing services I wanted to offer, but I knew that understanding the challenges and competition within the industry was imperative to starting a new business.

Some examples of what's included in the business plan are:
  • SWOT analysis
  • online marketing strategy
  • break-even analysis
  • sales forecast
  • brand images and color scheme

In addition to planning the business operations and writing the business plan, I also created the layout of the document.
